Arcam is a Swedish company that has specialized in solutions for the 3D production of metal components since its foundation in 1997. The focus is particularly on solutions for industries such as orthopedic implantation technology and aerospace. Arcam is the patent holder of the so-called EBM (Electron Beam Melting) technology. The beam process takes place in a vacuum at high temperatures, which results in low material stress on the end product. Arcam offers both the hardware and the corresponding base materials in the form of metal powders and instruments to monitor and verify the 3D printing process. During printing, sources of error can be identified layer by layer. In addition, it is possible to carry out automated calibrations and system diagnostics at the same time as the printing process without the human factor.
