3D printing PA 6 / polyamide 6

Polyamide 613

PA 6 in 3D printing: even better with PA 613

The plastic polyamide 6 (PA 6) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic that is mainly used in vehicle technology and automotive engineering. Polyamide 6 has a high temperature resistance. Thanks to their good mechanical properties, printed components made of PA 6 are fully functional, temperature-stable and resistant to mechanical wear and chemicals such as fuels and lubricating greases.

New at FKM: PA 613 in 3D printing
In order to be able to offer even better component quality, we have replaced the classic PA 6 plastic powder with a further development that combines the best properties of PA 6 and PA 12: Components made from the new material PA 613 are mechanically more stable and more resistant to chemicals and moisture than parts made from PA 6 and PA 12. Their melting temperature is also higher, which has a positive effect on their fire protection properties, particularly for interior components in the automotive sector.

Advantages of 3D printing PA 613

  • High strength
  • High rigidity
  • High chemical resistance
  • Low moisture absorption
  • High temperature resistance
  • Excellent surface resolution and attention to detail
  • beautiful surface finish

Fields of application for 3D printing PA 613
PA 613 is a good choice for the production of functional prototypes with high strength and rigidity. The material is also ideal for ready-to-install components in the automotive, aerospace and medical industries. It is also suitable for the manufacture of tools such as molds and inserts.
