Trump

Trumpf GmbH & Co KG, headquartered near Stuttgart, is a company that offers machine tools worldwide. Since 2015, Trumpf has been expanding its range of systems with a view to the future project for the digitalization of industrial production, Industry 4.0. The focus is on 3D printing systems that work with powder bed-based laser melting (LMF; also SLM: selective laser melting) and generative laser metal deposition (LMD). Trumpf has been a manufacturer of solutions in the field of additive manufacturing for more than 20 years. In laser metal deposition (LMD), a metal coating is applied to a base structure. The LMD process is also used for repairs or to bridge gaps in connecting parts. The appropriate powder can be selected from a range of different materials (steels and alloys) depending on requirements. The LMF or SLM process is a tool-free 3D printing process based on a metal powder bed. The workpieces are produced layer by layer using laser melting. Trumpf offers machines for industrial use for both processes – for smaller objects as well as the medium format, including for automated laser welding.
