Company certifications

Certified according to IATF 16949, ISO 14001 + 9001

3D printing certifications

With our consistently quality-monitored supply chain and production, we have been certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 for many years. As one of the first German manufacturers in the field of additive manufacturing, we also meet the high requirements of an automotive standard: we are certified to IATF 16949 as a Tier 3 parts supplier.

The automotive standard IATF 16949

IATF 16949 is a standard for quality management systems in the automotive industry. It was developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and defines the requirements for a quality management system for companies operating in the automotive industry.

It defines which processes and procedures are necessary to ensure that products and services meet customer requirements and the applicable legal regulations.

IATF 16949 places a number of requirements on the quality management system, including

  • Customer orientation
  • Involvement of employees
  • Process management
  • Improving process performance
  • Guidance
  • Risk management
  • Supplier management

IATF 16949 certification: a win-win situation for everyone

For FKM, the conversion of quality management to the IATF 16949 standard is an important success. Better process control in administration and production, greater error transparency and optimized material usage are just some of the effects that have further increased the quality and reliability of our 3D printed parts since then. It’s not just customers from the automotive industry who benefit from this. With IATF 16949 certification, FKM offers its customers from all industries certified quality at the highest level.

Further industry-specific quality certifications are being planned. Please contact us with your wishes and requirements!

Interview

FKM has had its QM system certified in accordance with the automotive standard IATF 16949

June 07, 2022

FKM is one of the first German companies in the additive manufacturing technology sector to meet the strict requirements of IATF 16949. This puts the laser sintering specialist in the premier league of suppliers of series parts for the international automotive industry. In this interview, Stefan Behlert, Head of Quality Assurance at FKM, talks about the specific effects of the standard on day-to-day business.

Mr. Behlert, FKM has already met the criteria of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 for some time. Why have you now also had your quality management certified according to the high requirements of IATF 16949:2016?

Behlert: " We are thus meeting a central requirement of all well-known automotive manufacturers. Certification in accordance with IATF 16949 qualifies our laser sintering factory in Biedenkopf as a production site for the manufacture of sophisticated series and spare parts for the automotive industry. This means that we are no longer just one of the leading manufacturers in the field of additive manufacturing, but also probably the first German 3D printing supplier to be listed in OEM circles as a supplier of individual parts at the level of a Tier 3 supplier. The new IATF certification therefore gives us a far-reaching competitive advantage.
