We receive the TOP 100 seal for innovative strength
Only particularly innovative medium-sized companies are honored with this award. The science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate us on this success at the award ceremony in Weimar on June 28 of this year.
Biedenkopf, February 2024 – On behalf of compamedia, the organizer of the TOP 100 competition, innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team examined the innovative strength of numerous companies based on more than 100 criteria from five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation and open innovation as well as innovation success. “Are companies able to create new products, new services, new processes and new business models? Are these achievements just coincidences or the result of a structured, targeted approach? These are the questions we examine at TOP 100,” says Nikolaus Franke, explaining his approach to the competition. It is also important how and whether innovations and product improvements have been able to establish themselves on the market (details of the test criteria can be found here ).
FKM Sintertechnik was able to prevail in this scientific selection process and is now one of the award-winning top innovators for the first time. The company is one of the leading service providers in the 3D printing industry and has made a name for itself as a pioneer in laser sintering technology. Its core competence is the rapid realization of small and medium batch sizes of ready-to-install plastic and metal parts with high requirements in terms of geometric complexity. FKM Sintertechnik has been operating one of the most modern laser sintering factories in Europe in Biedenkopf, Hesse, since 2013. On a current production area of over 4,000 square meters, 55 employees currently produce high-quality prototypes and series parts made of plastic and metal on 47 sintering systems. In 2023, FKM Sintertechnik realized more than 10,000 individual orders with varying batch sizes.

A total of 388 SMEs entered the 31st edition of the innovation competition. 287 were successful and have now carried the TOP 100 seal since February 1, 2024. “We are delighted to receive this award. Last but not least, we also see it as proof of our consistent quality work, the aim of which is to realize ever better and more efficient laser sintered components,” says company founder and Managing Director Jürgen Blöcher.
On June 28, 2024, all top innovators of the year 2024 will gather at the Congress Centrum Weimarhalle for the award ceremony as part of the German SME Summit. There, science journalist Ranga Yogeshwar will personally congratulate them on their success in the TOP 100.
